I've had superb service from MB thus far over the past 15 years. For really nice vintage pens requiring repair, I'd send it one of the German vintage MB gurus. Request that they fill the pen and write with it to test for flow, smoothness, immediate starting.Īs others mentioned, MB doesn't preserve vintage parts, so you have to specify loud and clear what you want to keep. Include a sheet of your favorite paper and provide samples of the kind of line you'd like. If you send a pen in, include as much detail about the prob and what you want. I agree with others to give your pen a good cleaning and a chance before sending it in. Insufficient data to say much, but it's not unusual to find that an ebay sourced pen will need some work. You will need that number to communicate the issues with CS. By the way, whenver the pen goes back to the service center, even on a return such as yours, will get a new service number. It, however, would take a little patience and persistance from you. You should call the customer service at 800 number.

I don't even know what to do now.the warranty expired just before they sent it back to me. They sent the thing back to me without any letter explaining what they did or anything. It now has the same issue with the piston knob, except it now has a large scratch on the knob and the adjustment they gave it consisted of turning it from an EF into a M. They told me they would send it to Texas where they would replace the whole barrel and adjust the nib. I handed over a 149 still under warranty to the Las Vegas MB boutique at the Venetian and asked them to clear up an issue with the piston knob. I wish i had done that in the first place! I'm not prepared to wait another month for nothing.Īny advice, or just hug would be very welcome. The only option now is to send it off to a nib master/pen expert here in the UK i would think. The same damn problem i had initially has not been fixed  I've filled five pages which i think is enough of a test, and a waste of good paper and ink The flow is terrible, just way too heavy. Ink feeder - gutted, no more ebonite feedīody - do they mean the barrel? MB didn't know.Īnyway, i get home and fire up my 149. At last i thought! MB said the following was replaced: Today i got a call saying the pen was ready for me collect. She agreed to cover the cost of the service so i went to the MB shop to have it sent off to Hamburg. I told the ebay seller that the pen didn't work properly and that it needed servicing. That is until i noticed it skipped and was regularly hardstarting. Needless to say i was well chuffed with it. About five weeks ago i brought my first MB (1980's 149) off ebay.
